Civic Society host talk on protecting Warrington’s pubs

 WARRINGTON Civic Society’s is hosting a free public talk tomorow (Tuesday) on the topic of protecting the town’s pubs. 
Nick Bosley, regional director of the Campaign for Real Ale or CAMRA will be explaining the role of Assets of Community Value, several of which have been nominated in Warrington with CAMRA’s support.
He will also discuss recent changes in the legislation regarding pub protection and Warrington’s CAMRA designated heritage pubs.
The talk will take place  on Tuesday 21st November at Friars Green church hall from 7pm.”
Numerous pubs have been lost across Warrington over the years, including the Railway Pub at Lymm and the Ship Inn at Walton.
But there have also been success stories like the Sportsman’s Arms at Penketh which became a Community Asset pub at a time it was under threat from development.
