Man arrested with fake firearm at Orford

A man who tried to tackle an incident of disorder at Orford during the early hours of today by arming himself with an imitation firearm has been arrested by police.

The incident happened at 02:20 hours when the male was arrested in the Orford area for an allegation of Possession of an Imitation Firearm With Intent to Cause Fear of Violence.

It is alleged that the male tried to deal with an incident of disorder by leaving a house with an imitation firearm and then entering licensed premises where the item was been taken off him.

Earlier in the evening at 21:12 a male was arrested in the Orford area for allegations of Racially Aggravated Public Order and Assault.

At 23:43 hours a male was arrested in a licensed premises in the Palmyra Square area for an allegation of assault – it is alleged that he has thrown a glass to the floor and a shard has struck a staff member in the eye.

Then at 01:15 hours, PC Waddington arrested a male on Crown Street for an allegation of Drunk and Disorderly – it is alleged that the male was involved in an argument which was split up by police, only for him to become abusive.

At 01:31 hours,  a female was arrested for an allegation of Public Order in the town centre – during the arrest it is alleged that the female assaulted two officers.

Finally at 0645 hours a male was arrested in the Birchwood area in order to Prevent a Breach of the Peace after it was alleged he refused to leave his partner’s address.
