POLICE at Warrington have recovered a pedal cycle stolen three years ago – because the owner had made a note of its serial number.
The bike was found when police were carrying out a drugs raid in the town.
Because the owner had kept a note of the serial number, they were able to trace the machine back to her.
A police spokesperson said: “Always make a note of any serial number that is displayed on your valuables – it can help further down the line.”
In another incident, a man was arrested for an alleged theft of watches from TK Maxx.
The alleged offender was detained by shop staff and a PCSO until officers reached the scene.
