Award for local charity organiser

PAM Redford, Lymm organiser of national charity Contact the Elderly, has been presented with the charity’s “North of England” award.
She was presented with the award at a ceremony in Leeds, by Lady Jasmine Cavendish, president of Contact the Elderly, for her efforts in keeping the Lymm and Thelwall group operational after the sad death, last year, of previous organiser Colin Melrose.
Contact the Elderly is an organisation which regularly entertains persons over the age of 75 to afternoon tea. Locally, they also organise an annual fundraising concert by the Chicago Teddy Bears Society Jazz Band at Grappenhall Community Centre.
Jean Higgins, a regular guest of the Lymm group, received the awards, donated by the Marsh Christian Trust, on behalf of Pam.
