Cheshire Mouldings, a joinery manufacturer was founded in Warrington in 1988 by the Carney family.
It was originally based in JNJ Fencing builder’s merchants, and the company focused on supplying stair parts to joinery manufacturers and builders merchants. The company moved to St. Helens in 1998. For over 20 years, Cheshire Mouldings has focused on high quality timber products. The company has a large product range and they supply to mixture of small businesses, national retailers and directly to independent customers. They are certified with Forest Certification Standards.
Company Timeline
1988 – Cheshire Mouldings is founded in Warrington by John Carney.
1990 – The company secures its first major chain order, supplying stair parts.
1997 – Cheshire Mouldings begins supplying to a joinery builder’s merchant with over 100 stores.
1998 – The company moves to a 9000 sq ft site in St. Helens.
2000 – Cheshire Mouldings begins using its own fleet of transport and manufacturing decking, which will go on to be a popular product.
2003 – The company begins to manufacture mouldings.
2011 – Cheshire Mouldings secures a group contract supplying 83 merchants.
2012 – The company achieves a turnover of £10 million.
2013 – A new site is opened at Brindley Road, to help the company focus on distribution.
2015 – Cheshire Mouldings is named in the top 100 Companies to Inspire Britain, and a new distribution centre is opened in Runcorn.

A Success Story
By building a reputation for quality timber products over the last 20 years, Cheshire Mouldings has secured several contracts with national merchants around the UK. To help fulfil such large orders, the company has a purpose built mouldings line which handles 12 bundles a minute, and microtech technology to allow 28,000 running metres of timber per 8 hour shift. In fact, from 2014 to 2016, the company invested over £5 million solely in new machinery, to ensure that their products stay the best. They also invested in an 81,000 sq ft Distribution Centre, with state-of-the-art barcode picking and other features to make the buying process as streamlined as possible. The new multi-million pound distribution centre is dedicated to independent and national merchant customers.
