LYMM Oughtrington Park Cricket Club will be throwing open its ground and facilities to the public on Sunday, September 3 – and staging a women’s cricket match at the same time.
The Lymm Women’s team will play a Woodley Women’s XI as the highlight of the day.
But there will be plenty more to see and do at the open day, which has become an annual event at the Oughtrington Lane ground.
This time last year, the club was celebrating its most successful season of recent years with promotion to the Cheshire League first division.
Currently they have a comfortable, mid-table position in the division showing they have adapted well to a higher standard of cricket.
The women’s match, which starts at 11.30pm, is appropriate because of the success of the England Women’s team in the World Cup.
There will also be a kids and parents game at 11am and visitors can face up to a bowling machine – capable of sending down deliveries of up to 100mph.
There will be a bouncy castle, a barbecue and plenty of other free activities starting at 11am and continuing until 6pm
