A WALKING Football team from Culcheth has taken part in its first tournament – and reached the final.
Datem WFC, an Over Fifties walking football team which trains at Culcheth Community Campus on Tuesday evenings, was only formed last November.
But when they played in their first tournament – the St Helens Walking Football festival – the team won four games to reach the final but then lost out 1-0 to a team from Wigan.
It was a close fought game and the Culcheth players found it an enjoyable experience.
