Warrington transport company acquired by Kinaxia Logistics

WARRINGTON based Mark Thompson Transport has been acquired by Kinaxia Logistics.

Formed in 1989, Mark Thompson Transport is based at the Stretton Distribution Centre off Grappenhall Lane and currently employs around 160 staff and has a fleet of 153 vehicles.

Their customer base includes Hermes, DX, TNT and Victoria Plum.

Managing Director, Mark Thompson said: “We have seen substantial growth over the last five years and are delighted to be joining Kinaxia Logistics. 

“It provides the perfect solution to the question of how to expand and develop our business whilst maintaining the excellent customer service levels that are in our DNA. This establishes a secure future for the business and we are excited about accessing new opportunities for growth.”

They are the eighth recent acquisition by Kinaxia, a UK haulage and warehouse company.

Kinaxia Logistics Director, Peter Fields added: “Mark Thompson Transport Limited are another excellent company who have decided that becoming part of Kinaxia is the best way of continuing their growth whilst securing a future for their business and employees. 

“We are delighted that Mark will be continuing in his role as well as joining the Kinaxia management team to help us extend his overnight logistics business model across the group.

“We anticipate making further investments in the next 12 months and these will be in line with our aim to build a flexible and efficient, service-focused haulage and warehousing group covering the UK.”
