Cheeky charity pinup calendar planned

WARRINGTON business woman Khelsi Price is collaborating on a cheeky war-time pinup calendar to help raise funds for a local veterans charity.

Khelsi has joined forces with local veterans charity, The Blue Apple cafe and warrington-worldwide photographer Paul Jackson to produce a 1940’s/50’s cheeky pinup calendar.

They hope to raise much needed funds to help ex-servicemen and women.

The part time model and entrepreneur is hoping to find local volunteers to dress and pose in the classic wartime styles and hopes the project can be a great success. Already on board with the project is Miss Warrington, Miss Cheshire North and Miss British Isles finalist Rachel Berwick.

Khelsi, a performer who loves to create and inspire a collaborative community, is the proprietor of the Entertainment Emporium. It was created by a group of like-minded fun individuals with the aim of bringing high quality entertainment to the North West at extremely competitive prices.

In a short period of time it has fast become one of the top party companies in the area. This is down to not only having one of the most talented entertainment teams around, but also due to a genuine love of children which is evident in every member of the team.

Regarding the calendar project Khelsi said: “My philosophy is ‘If I’m not making you smile, then I’m not fulfilling my purpose in life’. So I chose to channel that passion into The Entertainment Emporium which transports people of all ages and walks of life to experience magical and memorable moments. After participating in Paint It Black with Paul Jackson, and meeting some amazing creatives who I now call friends, I was inspired by my love of retro style and creative collaboration to lead a project supporting local veterans at Blue Apple, and highlighting local historic settings in the town.

“Pin-up emerged on matchbooks, playing cards and magazines during World War II which lifted spirits for the troops on the front line and launched the careers of actresses such as Marilyn Monroe. I hope to encourage women of all ages, shapes and sizes to be part of this fun and evocative project. And hopefully they will take something away with them like I did by doing Paint it Black.”

If you would like to volunteer for this exciting project as either a model, make up artist, props supplier, location owner or hairdresser please email Khelsi at [email protected]
