WARRINGTON Town’s FA Cup hero Craig Robinson has left the club for a second successive summer.
Robinson, 34, has opted to prolong his playing career, and is expected to join Skelmersdale.
Last summer he left Cantilever Park to do the same with Trafford, having ended the 2015/16 season as part of the coaching setup.
He returned to the club in November as a coach following the appointment of Paul Carden.
Despite his return supposedly in a coaching only capacity, the Yellows’ injury troubles saw him turn out at centre half on a regular basis until the spring.
His desire to continue playing has seen him look elsewhere, and he has left with the club’s best wishes.
Robinson scored the famous winning goal in front of a sell out crowd when Warrington beat League Two side Exeter City in the FA Cup first round in 2014.
There will be no shortage of familiar faces for Robinson at Skelmersdale, who have already signed former Yellows Danny Ventre, Steven Gillespie and Lewis Codling this summer.
