GRAPPENHALL Cricket Club is to host an England v Australia match next month.
The beautiful Broad Lane ground has been selected to stage the game in this year’s INAS Tri-Series Learning Disabilities cricket series.
The 40-overs game will take place on Tuesday, July 11, starting at 11am.
English Cricket Board chiefs were keen to showcase some of Cheshire’s most attractive grounds in the series – and Broad Lane was chosen as one of the best.
England will be looking to win the Tri-Series – which also involves South Africa –  for the third time in a row following victories in 2011 and 2015.
The tournament is being supported by ECB’s new principal partner NatWest as part of their new “Cricket Has No Boundaries” campaign.
ECB head of Disability Cricket Ian Martin said: “We are proud to be hosting the 2017 INAS Cricket Tri-Series, 10 years since we last hosted the event.
“We look forward to welcoming South Africa and Australia to England and to renewing old friendships and creating new ones. We are very much looking forward to the challenge of defending the title.
“We hope the INAS Tri-Series will be a fantastic advert for our sport. Our aim is to raise the profile of disability cricket for all cricket fans, no matter their background or challenges in life.
“It’s a great opportunity to come down and watch some quality international sport right on your doorstep.
“Entry is free and the bar will be open all day”
