WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed centre Rhys Evans will leave the club at the end of the current season, signing a three-year deal with Leigh Centurions.

Welsh international Evans, 24, signed for the club with his brother Ben back in 2009. He progressed through and made his Warrington first-team debut back in 2010 earning heritage number 1093. He’s gone on to make 105 appearances. Injury to his shoulder in the League game against St Helens back in May will keep him side lined for the remainder of the season.

Wolves’ chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “Rhys and his family demonstrated a fantastic commitment to the Wolves and his Rugby League career by relocating from Wales to Warrington at a young age. His commitment bore fruit as he progressed from our youth programme to make his first-team debut back in 2010. We’d like to thank Rhys for his contribution throughout his time at the club and wish him well in this new chapter of his career.”
