Volunteers help raise over £1,200 raised for good causes

OVER £1,200 has been raised with the help of 4Lymm, a local group supporting people and organisations in need, in the Lymm area.

The group is run solely by volunteers, raising money by a number of activities and donating everything they raise to local good causes.

On April 29, the Quizzy Rascals and Quiz Team Aguilleras were out in force at 4Lymm’s quiz night in the Bridgewater Club. With their quizzing expertise, and to a larger extent, their ability to buy raffle tickets, they helped the charity to raise over £450 for St Rocco’s Hospice.

Almost exactly a month later, it was 4Lymm’s turn to put on High Legh Teas on May 28 where through the sale of drinks, sandwiches & cakes, plus the proceeds from the ubiquitous tombola, they managed to raise over £750 for Riding for the Disabled.

Sadly due to the terrible state of the May Queen field this year, the charity were unable to run another tombola, nor sell the plants that they had planned to, but fear not – if you feel you have missed out, 4Lymm will again be selling refreshments in the youth centre from 1pm on Lymm’s Historic Transport Day.

If you want to get involved, or just find out more about what 4Lymm do, the team meet in the Bridgewater Club on the second Monday of each month at 7:30, feel free to come along, or contact Shirley & Keith on 01925 756378. Check out their website to find out more – http://www.4lymm.org.uk
