A VARIED programme of events has been lined up for the annual Rixton-with-Glazebrook Carnival, to be held on the village green at Hollins Green on Saturday, June 24.
The free event starts at 11am and continues until 4pm, with attractions for all ages.
There will be music from Cadishead Band, Jess Kemp and Radio Wishing Well, along with a variety of dance from Dance Rhythm, Warrington Wolves Fusion and Michele’s Z-style and belly dancing groups.
Elsewhere on the green there will be zorbs, a wipeout challenge, birds of prey and circus skills workshops.
For the young ones  there will be an inflatable assault course, a fairground ride, a treasure hunt, face painting and several puppet shows.
For the mechanically minded, there will be a varied display of vehicles and machinery including vintage lawnmowers.
Lots of local groups are also getting involved and they’ll be setting up stalls to entertain and inform.  Local businesses will have their products for sale on the day, so there’s chance to grab a bargain.
There will be a tea and cake tent, a beer and wine tent, a prosecco bar serving cocktails and mocktails, a barbecue, an Indonesian food stall, ice cream van, fruit kebabs and sweetie stalls.
Rixton Dog School will be running a Silly Dog Show – with prizes for the “waggiest tail” and the “dog the judge would most like to take home.”
