A book of condolence has been opened at Warrington town hall for people who want to pay their respects to the victims of the Manchester bombing.

Members of the public are also invited to leave flowers at the town’s golden gates.

Cllr Leader Terry O’Neill said: “All faiths, all parties and all communities in Warrington stand in solidarity with our friends and neighbours in Manchester.

“People in Warrington who wish to pay their respects to the victims of the Manchester bombing are invited to leave flowers at the Golden Gates and sign a book of condolence at the town hall reception.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been so tragically affected by this callous act.”

The town hall flag will fly at half mast for the rest of this week as a mark of respect.

Numerous Warrington children and their families were in the 21,000 crowd when 22 people were killed and numerous others injured after a suicide bomber carried out a terror attack at Manchester Arena at the end of a concert by US singer Ariana Grande, in the deadliest peace time attack Manchester has ever seen.

A Crisis Committee has been set up at Warrington’s  Peace Centre which was visited today by Home Secretary Amber Rudd yesterday7 to see first hand the work of the Survivors’ Assistance Network which is being run from the centre.
