Bridgefoot closed following road traffic collision

EMERGENCY services attended a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist which closed Bridgefoot, Warrington.

Three ambulances and numerous police vehicles attended at the scene.

Police said officers on patrol in the town centre came upon the incident shortly after 11am.

A spokesman said: “The collision involves a cyclist and a red Vauxhall Vectra. North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and the cyclist has been taken Aintree Hospital.

“As a result of the collision Bridgefoot is currently closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the collision is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 345 of 23/5/2017.
