Woolston stabbings: Man charged with attempted murder

A MAN appeared before magistrates at Warrington this morning charged with two offences of attempted murder.
Simon Cragg, aged 31, of Alder Road, Woolston, was with attempting to murder his partner, Natalie Platt, 28 and her mother, Janet Platt, 52, at his home in Alder Road in the early hours of Sunday.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court next month.

Cragg and the two women were taken to hospital after police were called to the house around 2am on Sunday. All three were said to have suffered multiple puncture wounds in what police described as a “serious domestic incident.”
The older woman was said to be in a critical condition.
Cragg was later arrested and questioned by officers on suspicion of attempted murder.
He was subsequently charged with two offences of attempted murder.
The 52-year-old woman is said to still be in a critical condition although now stable. The younger woman is said to be in a stable conditions.
