CORONATION street star Simon Gregson, who plays Rovers Return landlord Steve McDonald, gave up his time to support an open day event at Warrington’s St Rocco’s Hospice.

The actor saw first hand the great work of the new Vitality Centre, which is part of a ‘Hospice Without Walls’ model, extending care further into the community and helping patients to get the most out of every day.

The special event was organised to to say thank you to everyone in the community who supports the hospice and for people to find out a bit more about what a difference that support makes to patients and their families.

It waS also an opportunity for the community to find out more about the Vitality Centre and the services that it will be offering to those in the community living with a life-limiting illness to support them, as far as possible, to lead the life that they would wish for as long as possible.

There were a wide range of activities on offer including taster sessions from complementary therapists, craft activities for young and old, a range of stalls and refreshments.

It was also an opportunity for Starlight ladies to pick up their walking packs and t-shirts in readiness for the event on Saturday, June 24.
