What’s your view on improving traffic flow in east Warrington?

TOWN Hall chiefs at Warrington are asking for feedback on plans to improve traffic flow around east Warrington.
Following the success of the Birchwood Pinchpoint project in 2015/16 and thanks to funding from the Cheshire and Warrington Growth Deal and the council’s own capital investment programme, it is proposed to introduce a number of further improvements on and near the A574 Birchwood Way.
The aim of the project is to help local residents and commuters travel more easily by car, bus, cycle or on foot, as well as supporting the local economy.
Draft proposals include improvements at the College Place roundabout, the southern part of Oakwood Gate and an extended merge lane at the Moss Gate junction with a new bus gate at Woolston Grange.
A council spokesman said: “We’re going to host some exhibitions for you to drop in and find out more information during May and we’ll have members of our design team on hand to answer any of your questions.”
•Tuesday May 9, 12-2pm – The Centre Birchwood Park
•Thursday May 11, 10am to 7pm and Saturday May 13, 10am to 3pm outside Asda Birchwood
•Tuesday May 16, 12-2ppm The Centre, Birchwood Park
See https://www.warrington.gov.uk/WE2 for more information.
The consultation begins on Monday May 1 and ends on May 30.

  1. I know from experience that there is zero point taking the time and trouble commenting – all they do is produce a list of reasons why they will disregard your comments and go ahead as planned anyway, In fact, the fewer people that comment the better as they can then produce some manipulated statistics like “77% (or the two people who responded) agreed that our plans were fantastic”. Unfortunately this is synonymous of the ‘we know best’ culture prevalent within the council which, again, I know from experience.
