Lib Dems to rely on the same team again

LIBERAL Democrats have selected the same two candidates who fought the Warrington North and Warrington South constituencies in 2015 to contest the General Election to take place on June 8.
Cllr Bob Barr, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on the borough council will again fight the Conservative-held Warrington South seat.
Cllr Stefan Krizanac will take on the Warrington North seat, held by Labour.
Cllr Barr said: “On June 8 every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote to change the direction of the country and stop a hard Brexit.  We offer the people of Warrington a real alternative and a vision for Britain that is open, tolerant and united.  Teresa May’s hard Brexit agenda will be a disaster for the country and risks crashing our economy and leaving us isolated on the global stage.
“The Prime Minister promised on several occasions that she would not call a snap election.  Yet she broke this promise.  Since she called it, over 12,000 people have joined the Liberal Democrats and there are hundreds of thousands of people out there who support us and want to change the direction we are headed.”
Cllr Krizanac added: “Jeremy Corbyn would be a disaster for the country too.  The party is hopelessly divided and their leader has no plan for the economy and offers no leadership.  Every time it has mattered, he has given the Prime Minister a blank cheque on Brexit.  They plan to reverse the cuts in Corporation Tax but they have already spent the sum raised many times over by pledging this money in 10 different ways.  We will be honest with people about the bold solutions needed to tackle problems like the crisis in NHS and social care.”
