THE  “Good Eggs of Lymm” competition raised £800 for the organisers – Lymm Village Pre-school.
The winners were announced at the Lymm Duck Race, with Suzanne Hallam, of Hallam Podiatry, picking up the top prize for a wonderful, bunny-inspired creation.
Second came Ridgeway Residential and third were Red.
The pre-school launched the competition in the hope that it will become another of Lymm’s annual traditions, bringing the whole community together.
The idea is that local traders, businesses, clubs, schools and individuals will buy an egg from the pre-school and decorate it in their own colours.
Schools, pre-schools and churches will be given free eggs to ensure the event brings the whole community together.
In the period up to Easter, they will be encouraged to display them in their windows.
A trophy will be awarded annually for the egg which wins the most votes.
Ruth Harris, fundraiser for the event, said: “We really hope that this will prove to be a great fun event for everyone and will promote all the community spirited ‘Good Eggs’ of Lymm as well as raise some money for the pre-school.
“We are so grateful for the support that the people of Lymm give us and really hope that this will provide everyone with some fun.”
