Suspect arrested with kitchen knife after phoning police

A suspected thief was arrested at Lymm after ringing Warrington police to say he was in possession of a kitchen knife.

The 24-year-old local male was found on Sandy Lane, Lymm, shortly before midnight on Tuesdau (April 11), holding a silver kitchen knife.

He was arrested and taken into custody accused of possessing a bladed instrument and on suspicion of a shoplifting offence at McColls store on Lovely Lane, Warrington in January.
