FIREFIGHTERS were called out shortly after 4am this morning to a blaze involving a number of wheelie bins at Great Sankey.
The crew from the Penketh fire station used a hose reel jet to tackle the outbreak in an alley off Liverpool Road.
The blaze was the work of arsonists and anyone with information about it is asked to call police on 101.
Late last night there was a large fire involving refuse on Watkin Street, Warrington.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to tackle the blaze and again appealed for witnesses as it was believed the fire had been started deliberately.
Anyone who wishes to give information anonymously on either fire can use the Crimestoppers hot line 0800 555 111.
