LIVEWIRE and The Warrington Wolves Foundation have joined forces to offer the men and women a chance to join a free 12 week beginners fitness and weight loss programme.

The Fit2Tackle program which started as a 12-week pilot scheme has now been running for 2 and a half years.  It has proved both popular and successful with all courses of 40 men and 40 women becoming booked up rapidly and the participants can boast an astounding accumulative weight loss of over 500 stone.

Livewire fitness instructors Tom Kearney and Paul Corless arrange three times a week exercise sessions which are held at the Halliwell Jones stadium on Mondays and Wednesdays and at The Orford Park Jubilee Hub on Saturdays.   Additionally, there are talks from dietitians and cardiologists along with health and wellbeing sessions.

Tom said: “The people who come on the course need to have a BMI of over 28 and the aim is to lose 5% of body weight over the 12 weeks course.  We have a great success rate.”

All participants who complete at least 75% of the course become entitled to a free 6 week Livewire gym pass.

The next intake is for the end of May.
