WARRINGTON singer Mo Ardeniran has won the Voice 2017, beating off the challenge from thousands of talented hopefuls to become Polydors latest signing.

In the most important night of his young life the super talented local lad contested against three other excellent contestants for the crown of this years “The Voice” and a life changing prize of a recording contract with industry giants Polydor.

Last week saw Mo’s childhood friend and flatmate Max Vickers sadly leave the show as he was voted out in the semi final stage so it must have been a bitter sweet time for the two Warrington pals but Max was in the crowd waving his Go Mo placard supporting his mate.

First to sing in the final eliminator was Jamie from Cardiff who performed his version of “Shape of you”, a recent hit for Ed Sheeran.

Next up was another Welsh act, duo Into the Ark performing their version of Let it be me by Ray Montegue.

Last to perform came Mo, making a huge leap from his open mic nights at the Lounge to the stage of the grand final in front of a huge crowd and a TV audience of millions. He absolutely nailed his performance and it went to the final elimination vote of the evening to determine the two finalists.

First to go through to the last two were Into the Ark, Tom Jones’ act. After a heartstopping wait the second finalist was announced and it was Mo who progressed at the expense of Jamie.

On to the final and Into the Ark sang first, an understandably nervous performance given the circumstances. Mo was next and in an emotionally charged rendition of X Ambassadors wonderful Unsteady he sang soulfully, beautifully and powerfully and lifted the roof off the arena and brought his mentor Jennifer Hudson to tears.

The songs sung it came down to the announcement of who had triumphed and become a new and deserving recording artist. After what seemed like an age came the name of the winner, “Mo” a single word that will change his life forever.

Fully deserving of the crown Mo again remained his usual humble self when interviewed.

He was joined on stage by an overjoyed best mate Max and they hugged and celebrated.

Not only was this a fantastic achievement for a wonderfully talented young man but also a complete celebration of all the amazing young talent Warrington produces on a regular basis. For one of those young artists the sky is now the limit.
