Boost for Wolves as Atkins makes speedy recovery

CENTRE Ryan Atkins has made a speedy recovery from a hamstring injury which was set to keep him out for up to five weeks and could figure against Hull FC on Saturday.

It comes as a timely boost for Tony Smith’s team who will be looking to avoid a seventh consecutive league defeat for the first time since 2002. That run came back in the Wilderspool days when Paul Cullen was brought back to the club to save it from relegation.

Smith says Atkins has made a speedy recovery from his hamstring injury and could be included in the 19 man squad. George King has also recovered from a hamstring and could also be included.

Smith and skipper Chris Hill believe the team have become their own worst enemies during the six match run of defeats but remain confident that the team can turn things around.

Hill says the players have bonded following some difficult conversations and know what they need to do to turn things round.

Exclusive video interviews with Smith and Hill to follow.
