A PARTNERSHIP between community radio station Radio Warrington and live music promoters WArrington Music [WAM} has been unveiled.

Local bands and artists interested in having their music played on Radio Warrington will get a chance to do so as a result of the partnership.

They should send tracks, alongside their social media links,  to [email protected] or use the submit form on the website WArringtonMusic.co.uk

Editor of  [WAM], Lee Harman said: ‘’Radio has always been a great opportunity to discover new music, and I am pleased be helping promote fantastic local bands and artists on Radio Warrington. I am more than confident they will more than hold their place alongside established artists.’’

[WAM] was established in September 2012, as a multi platform organisation, championing music from the town’s music scene. It has also had  seven releases through its bandcamp page, with thousands of downloads made over the years, as well as putting on live music everywhere from Friars Court, to the Bus Interchange. [WAM] was  “paused” in 2015 but the outpouring of grief from the town and beyond after the tragic deaths of Viola Beach, and their manager Craig Tarry, showed there was still a need for a hub dedicated to the Warrington music scene so the organisation has been revived

Lee said: ‘It was great to see how much a band who were on their first steps to stardom, practising in The Lounge Bar basement, connected with so many people and even now, their songs are being played on Radio. I want us to find the next big thing.’’

Radio Warrington has been broadcasting for 10 years on 1332AM medium wave. They also operate on in digital stereo online on www.radiowarrington.co.uk from a purpose built studio  in the town centre.
