Girl, 18, victim of sex attack at Appleton

POLICE today appealed for witnesses after a sex attack on an 18-year-old girl at Warrington last month.
It was at 11.45am on Thursday, February 23 that the girl was assaulted as she was walking along the footpath between Cavesham Close, Appleton  and Broomfields Leisure Centre.
She was approached by a man who tried to initiate contact with her by touching her and temporarily prevented her from walking away.
Officers want to trace the man who is described as being obese, aged between 28-30 with a very stubbly, yellow beard all over his face and distinctive small eyes.
He had messy, short hair which was white blonde on one side and bleached on the other and shaved at the sides. He wore a black snood covering the lower part of his face, a new orange/tan tracksuit with a zip up hooded top and a black zip. His trainers were white, including the laces and they were covered in mud.
Anyone who recognises the description of the man or may have been in the area around the time the incident took place is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 797 of February 23.
