THE deputy leader of Warrington Borough Council has tied the knot with a fellow councillor.
Cllr Graham Friend married Cllr Diana Bennett at the Church of the Resurrection, Cinnamon Brow.
Both are Poulton North ward councillors – Cllr Friend having been a member of the council since May 2011 and Cllr Bennett being elected in May last year.
Fellow members of Warrington North Labour Party crowded into the church for the ceremony, along with family, friends and representatives of local community groups.
A spokesperson for Warrington North Labour Party said: “Graham and Diana are two of our borough’s most well-respected councillors, who are tireless advocates for their residents in Poulton North.
“Councillors, members and local residents were absolutely delighted to join them to celebrate their special day. It was fantastic to see both the church and the reception packed out with friends, family and even local residents turning out to wish them every happiness in their new life.”
