POLICE have been clamping down on the use of off-road bikes in Warrington’s Sankey Valley Park – and have seized one machine after a chase.
A PCSO came across the off-road biker while on cycling patrol in the park.
The biker attempted to make off but, after a short chase, the chain came off his bike which he then dumped and ran off.
The bike was seized and is now being held in a police compound.
Police have also been patrolling the Orford area after complaints from residents about dangerous use of off-road bikes.
There have also been complaints from the Hood Manor area.
A man riding a pit bike in Sankey Valley Park has been issued with a notice after a member of the public photographed him.
This means if he is seen riding the bike anywhere other than on a road it can be seized.
