A dog walk with a difference

A DOG walk with a difference will raise money for dogs in need at Warrington.
The event, organised by university students, takes place at the Cheshire Dogs Home, Grappenhall on Sunday, February 26.
Everyone is welcome to join Patch the Pirate Dog and organisers 4PawsEvents, a  group of four event management students from the University ofChester.
The “Treasure Trail” event aims to support and raise funds and awareness for the dogs home, which homes and cares for stray and abandoned dogs. The dedicated charity looks after around 7,000 dogs each year, many of which are never reclaimed and require specialist support during their time at the dogs’ home.
It promises a fun day out for the whole family – not forgetting that dogs are welcome too.
The idea is to help Patch the Pirate dog search for his friends who are lost along the trail and work together to find the treasure. Also available will be refreshments, raffle, face painting and much more.
Charlotte Howard, team leader of 4Paws Events, said: “We are really looking forward to raising money for Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home and are so excited to host the Treasure Trail, which we have worked so hard to create. It promises to be a great day out for everyone, and all in aid of a wonderful charity.”
Anna Stansfield, Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home manager, said: “The team has worked really hard with us to make the event a success, and we hope it is well supported. All the money we raise makes a significant difference to the dogs we help.”
The event is from 10am until 2pm. Tickets are £3 for a child, £4 for an adult or a family ticket for £12. More information and tickets are available at http://4pawsevents.wixsite.com/thetreasuretrail or on the day of the event.
