600 to run in 10th High Legh 10k

SIX hundred runners have booked to take part in the 10th annual Robert Moffat High Legh 10k run – and there is no room for any more!

The run takes place on March 5 – and at least two runners who have taken part in all 10 races will be taking part.

They are Jono Guildford, from Manchester Front Runners and Nicola Gerrard, from Lymm Runners.

Race founder Nick Cavenagh will be returning for the special 10th anniversary. His idea was to produce a run people would want to back to and it has proved to be just that. Sixty runners took part in the first and this has now grown to 600 – with a waiting list.

Known among runners as “the friendly race”, the event is dedicated to the memory of Robert Moffat, former head gardener for the High Legh Estate, who died in in 1878.

The race is now organised by Lymm Runners and High Legh Community Association.
