Three men arrested for domestic assaults

POLICE arrested three men overnight alleged to have been involved in domestic assaults in the Warrington area with a fourth arrested after a female was assaulted during a fight on Mersey Street.

The first incident took place at 1925 when a male was arrested in the Birchwood area for an allegation of domestic assault.

This was followed at 2135 when a male was arrested in the Horsemarket Street area of the town centre for an alleged domestic assault.

Then at 2329 a male was arrested at a licensed premises for an allegation of domestic assault – the male was also wanted for failing to appear for traffic offences.

Then at 0017 a male was arrested on Mersey Street after he had allegedly been involved in a fight – during which time he is alleged to have assaulted a female.

Meanwhile five other men were arrested for drink related crimes.

At 0150 a male driver was arresated for an allegation of drunk driving – it is alleged that the CCTV operator saw this male drive his car and clip a wall – he was later stopped on Mersey Street, providing a roadside sample of 70, double the legal limit.

Then at 0210 a male driver was stopped on Sankey Street after allegedly running a red light. It is further alleged that he provided a roadside breath sample of 51.

At 0225 a male was arrested on Academy Way for an allegation of drunk and disorderly followed by another at 0307 when a male was arrested for damaging plant displays.

Finally a 0310 a male was arrested for being for drunk and disorderly in the Town Centre and police assault.

  1. I think the headline is badly worded / confusing.
    Real men don’t hit women.
    “Three low-life, cowardly, spineless wimps arrested for domestic abuse” would have been a more apt description.
