Students challenged by world renowned magazine

GRAPHIC Design and photography students from Warrington have been challenged to create pages for a world-renowned photographic magazine.
Professional Imagemaker has challenged Priestley College students to design pages suitable for the publication, which is the UK’s largest member-magazine for professional and semi-professional photographers.
Editor Mike McNamee has asked the creative minds to design pages about the essential aspects of image editing.
If they meet the magazine’s standards they could be published and seen by 5,000 readers in 70 countries.
Mike said: “If the standard is of sufficient quality we intend to use the designs or parts of the designs in upcoming
issues of the magazine,
“Hopefully they will seize this opportunity and enjoy working to our brief. It is a chance to see their work published and to be credited as ‘guest designers’.”
The glossy magazine has regular contributors from America, Canada, Australia and Europe.
Students have also been asked to produce logo designs for the feature and incorporate this into their layouts. They will have to work together to decide on the logo so it is consistent throughout the pages.
“I’m sure we can produce some fresh ideas the magazine will be impressed with,” said Matthew Healey, a former pupil at St Chad’s Catholic and Church of England High School.
“This is a great opportunity for us to see our work in print so everyone is feeling inspired to get on with the job.”
