Community “fayre” to launch new initiatives

A SECOND event is to be held in Lymm following the highly successful “community conversation” arranged in conjunction with the ROC “Redeeming our Communities” organisation at Lymm High School in October.
More than 100 people from the Lymm, Thelwall and High Legh areas attended the first event and a number of new community activities initiated by people who attended the event have been launched.
The ROC initiative aims to bring people of goodwill together to make safer, kinder communities.
A ROC Fayre has now been organised for Tuesday, January 17 between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Lymm Youth and Community Centre in Bridgewater Street.
The idea is to enable individuals and organizations to meet in an informal environment, with a view to forming “like-minded” teams that can develop and launch new initiatives.
There will be various “stations” in the room, each based upon an area of need highlighted in a ROC report on the first event.
These include youth, community, advice and support, transport, the elderly, special needs, traffic, loneliness, drink and drugs, gambling and communications.
Free drinks and nibbles will be available.
