THE A50 Knutsford Road at Grappenhall has now re-opened following a two-vehicle crash which led to a complete road closure early this morning.

The collision, which involved two cars,  closed the road between Howshoots roundabout (nr M6 J20) and the A50/A56 junction, near to the Cheshire Dogs Home.

One man was trapped inside one vehicle and had to be released by firefighters from Warrington and Stockton Heath. Another person was also injured and both were taken to hospital.

Closure of the busy road at a time when commuters were travelling to work led to lengthy hold-ups on nearby roads.
