A WARRINGTON charity is coming to the aid of four youngsters who were facing Christmas with no presents after their mother attempted to take her own life.

Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) is donating some toys for the four youngsters, two boys aged 8 and 9 and two girls aged 15 and 16, while also appealing for more support from the local community.

The mother is currently in a coma in Warrington hospital, after attempting to take her own life last week.

After hearing that the children faced a Christmas without any presents Warrington Disability Partnership agreed to help out.

Chief Executive Dave Thompson said: “This is a a tragic situation at any time but is made even more distressing given the time of the year.

“We are helping provide some Christmas gifts for the children but we could do with some support from the community, possibly with donations so we can buy age appropriate gifts, or may be purchase some gift vouchers for the youngsters, so they can choose their own things.”

The mother, who is aged in her 30s, attempted to take her life at the family home over a week ago.

Attempts were made to revive her earlier this week but she had to be put back into an induced coma.

Anyone who can help with gifts or donations should call WDP on 01925 240064 or email [email protected]
