LOCAL charity Walton Lea Partnership were honoured to have their staff and volunteers chosen as part of ASDA’s Hidden Heroes campaign, after receiving a total of 14 awards.
Asda are awarding 2,000 Community Heroes Awards throughout the UK this Christmas, with Asda Warrington, Westbrook and Birchwood presenting 14 awards to Walton Lea Partnership staff and volunteers working at Long Lane Garden Centre.
Julie Groom, Head of Community Outreach, Fundraising and Horticulture, said: “The management team and board have always known what heroes we have working
and volunteering on our sites, it is just great to get some external recognition.
“Thanks to ASDA and the judging panel and again a massive thanks to all those who put so much effort into keeping Walton Lea on top of the game.”
Liz Cottrell of Asda Community Team said: “Having worked with them for several years, we are proud to present these unique and rare awards to staff and volunteers as we see the amazing work they do for our community.”
Walton Lea Partnership provides work experience for adults with learning difficulties at two sites in Warrington, one at Long Lane and one at Walton Lea.
They aim to improve the self esteem and status of adults with learning difficulties, helping them to play a full part in the local community.
