WARRINGTON Swimming and Water Polo Club is celebrating winning a series of titles in regional championships.

Following a string of success in division three, the swim teams have been promoted to division two of the Merseyside and District League. Additionally, last month the 14 and under swim side won the Cheshire Country trophy.

On the water polo side, the senior men’s team were crowned champions of the Liverpool and District Grade One tournament – their highest position for many years, and at the same event the 16 and under side won the Liverpool District and Cheshire County trophies.
Earlier this year, the 16 and under team won the Bolton and District league and knockout competitions while being able to stay undefeated all season. Each of the players were able to collect four medals. They are also currently top of the Manchester and District league, with only one game remaining this season.
Over the last year, the club have picked up more than 70 trophies which were presented to the teams at their annual presentation evening at Padgate Community Centre.
LiveWire are now hoping to display the trophies at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub where the teams do their training.
Neil Musgrove, from the club, said: “Whilst it is great to see so much success, we are still
looking for children in the 10-12 and 13-14 age ranges who would like to try their hand at this
great team game and join our water polo squads so we can build on these achievements.”
