A WARRINGTON woman has been recognised as “Nursing Assistant of the Year” at an awards ceremony in Manchester.
Nursing assistant Susan Parr, who works at Callands Care Home, Warrington, won the award at HC-One’s “One of a Kind” awards ceremony.
The event was held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester and was the first annual awards ceremony to recognise colleagues who go above and beyond to deliver the kindest, high quality care to residents.
It was also an opportunity to celebrate HC-One’s fifth anniversary.
The award recognises the vital role that nursing assistants play in providing the kindest care to residents, with strong clinical skills, the ability to mentor fellow colleagues and a drive to provide a high level of dedication to the residents that they support.
Susan was declared a worthy winner after taking to her role with confidence and commitment, and expressing a huge desire to learn new skills.
Her fantastic reputation within the home is consistently evidenced not only through the high-quality, kind care that she provides, but through her supportiveness of other crucial roles within the HC-One family, from apprentice carers to registered nurses.
Callands Care Home also has a second reason to celebrate, as Susan’s colleague, Olga Carolino, was also shortlisted for the award and highly commended for her achievements and dedication to the home.
Callands Care Home manager Anne Hughes said: “We are delighted that Susan has been recognised for her hard work and dedication in providing the kindest care to Callands Residents. She is a testament to the wonderful support of all our HC-One colleagues and everyone at Callands is so proud of her achievement.”
