LOST loved ones were remembered at St Rocco’s fist Light up a Life service.

Pam Massey, the Chief Executive of St Rocco’s Hospice welcomed the many people who attended the first of this year’s Light Up A Life services organised by the hospice.

The service which took place at the hospice was led by Revd. Paul Wilson, Rector of Warrington, the Address was given by Father Christopher Cunningham, the Roman Catholic Dean of Warrington and the lessons were read by the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Mrs Kathy Cowell OBE DL and Jane Clark, a SRH Volunteer. The Mayor of Warrington who is a Hospice Trustee and the Mayoress were in attendance.

Rev Paul Wilson dedicated the lights to the precious loved ones no longer with us with the words “Let there be light”.

There was a beautiful musical contribution by the children of Bewsey Lodge Primary School and additional prayers led by Revd. Stewart McTaggart, Curate of St Elphin’s.

After the service, refreshments were served in the Hospice Day Unit and the Books of Honour were available for viewing in the Hospice Chapel and members of St Rocco’s staff were on hand to help.

The second of this year’s Light Up A Light services will be held at Warrington Parish Church (St Elphin’s) on Thursday 8th December at 7pm.
