A NEW branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) is to be launched for the Lymm and Thelwall area.
The launch meeting will take place at Thelwall Parish Hall on Thursday, February 16, from 10-12.
A U3A is a non-profit making organisation for older people which enable members to take part in many educational and creative activities in a friendly, social atmosphere, learning from each other by sharing their knowledge and experience.
Membership is open to anyone who is retired or partly retired.
Each U3A is run entirely by its members and promotes the value of life-long learning. No qualifications are required or given. Activities can cover a range of topics, some academic, some practical, some recreational.
Pam Jones, chairman of the Third Age Trust, said: “For people no longer in full-time employment, or raising a family it is the time to make the most of life.
“The University of the Third Age gives you the chance to enjoy the things you have always wanted to do and to make new friends. Come along and discover how to Learn, Laugh and Live with U3A.”
