MP Helen Jones pulled the first pint in a newly-refurbished pub at Warrington – and praised the owners for creating a “splendid pub.”
The Warrington North MP officially opened the refurbished Hawthorne public house in Orford Lane.
The pub has been given a £184,000 new look.
Owners Punch Taverns gave given the pub a full internal and external refurbishment including the creation of a new open plan interior and the upgrading of the beer garden.
The scheme has created six new jobs.
Ms Jones said: “I am pleased to have been invited to officially open the Hawthorne. The refurbishment is complete and the pub looks splendid. I am sure that customers will appreciate the new surroundings.
“On the eve of small business Saturday it is good to see the value added by Punch’s investment in small businesses and the local community.”
