FATHER Christmas will be exchanging his traditional sleigh for aerial transportation of a different kind by taking the controls of helicopter for Festive Fun Flights at Bents Garden & Home in Glazebury.
Travellers will fly at speeds of over 100mph in an Airbus EC120B and take in views of the attractive scenery surrounding Bents on a 15 minute journey, before returning to the Centre where they will obtain a signed certificate to remember their festive flight.
Trips will take place between 10am and 3pm, with four seats obtainable per trip. Tickets can be bought in multiples or as single seats, however if single tickets are purchased a total of four must be sold for the flight to take place. Passengers will be welcomed at Bents’ customer services by Father Christmas’s team of Elves, who will transport them to the take-off point to the back of the Centre.
This magical event is being organised by the Helicentre who have been involved in aviation for over 16 years. In addition to flight training Helicentre also provide commercial helicopter work which fully complies with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations. It runs a large fleet of piston and turbine helicopters, and all the logistics for Bents’ Festive Fun Flights will be controlled by its team of professional helicopter pilots and qualified ground staff.
Tickets are obtainable from the Helicentre directly (0151 448 0488) at a cost of £85 per person. A total of five flights will depart each day on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th December and weight limits apply.
