WARRINGTON and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new Chief Nurse.

Kimberley Salmon-Jamieson brings a wealth of experience spanning a 20 year nursing career in a number of specialties including medicine, community services, surgery, orthopaedics and women’s and children’s services.

She joins the Trust from Pennine Acute NHS Trust where she was Acting Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Nurse from 2013. Prior to this she was Deputy Chief Nurse at the University Hospital of South Manchester and held senior nursing and managerial roles at Central Manchester NHSFT and Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Passionate about patients she has developed specific interests in patient safety and experience, staff leadership, people development, service improvement and education.

Kimberley undertook her nurse training at Lakeland College of Nursing & Midwifery continuing her education at Lancaster University where she acquired her first degree in healthcare before going on to achieve an MSc in Clinical Nursing from Liverpool University. She has spoken nationally and internationally at conferences.

She replaces Karen Dawber, Director of Nursing and Quality who left the Trust in August to take up the Chief Nurse role at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
