Freedom on the village for community stalwarts

TWO community stalwarts have been honoured with the Freedom of Stockton Heath.
Chairman of Stockton Heath Parish Council Peter Walker made the presentations at a meeting of the council to former councillor Tudor Pole and local community worker Helen Curwen.
He said: “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the honour.”
Tudor Pole, a former member of the parish council, was the founder of the hugely popular Stockton Heath Festival, now one of the main events of the village’s year.
Helen Curwen is an enthusiastic community worker involved in a number of local organisations and attending so many council meetings she could almost be regarded as a member.
Cllr Walker said: “Without Tudor, we would not have had the festival and Helen takes on so much work simply because she loves Stockton Heath.”
