A YOUNG Warrington singer who has found fame on social media is now seeking the support of her home town as she takes the next step on her musical journey.

The journey started when “Acoustic Ash” uploaded the cover track of Say you won’t let go’ by James Arthur to her Facebook site Facebook.com/TheAcousticAsh

Within 48 hours the video attracted nearly 20,000 viewings and currently stands at over 31,000.

Ash, who grew up in Padgate, said: “My friend Lindsay Smith, who I grew up on the same street as, kept telling me that I needed to share my music with people.

“I love performing but was always nervous about feedback of my physical appearance. Lindsay encouraged me, saying that it’s about my music, not my appearance. So I took a leap of faith and I am overwhelmed with the response so far. People have been so kind and forthcoming with their support. I can’t find enough words to thank them!

“My musical journey in Warrington has been nothing short of vibrant. It has helped me to enhance my songwriting and vocal skills and find my own identity as a musician. I gained so much confidence whilst studying at Birchwood High School and Warrington Collegiate.

“Since then I have; gained a first class degree in popular music from the University of Wolverhampton, played at the international music conference in Beijing in 2010. Won Warrington’s next big thing in 2013. and I was recently chosen to play at the Arts, Beats and Eats festival in Royal Oak, Michigan where Joan Jett and Gavin DeGraw were some of the headlining acts.

“I have been fortunate enough to have gigged in various countries including: the U.K. America, China.

Ash added: “There are competitions coming up that people can get involved in. I would really love to have the support of my hometown that encouraged and inspired a lot of my music and made me a competent musician.

“I owe so much to my friends/family and tutors there especially the ongoing support they continue to give.

“After All is said and done my home town of ‘Warrington is Wonderful.’
