Police launch appeal after 16-year-old scooter boy dies

POLICE are appealing for information following a fatal collision involving a 16-year-old boy who was riding a scooter at Sankey Bridge, Warrington, on Saturday.

The collision, which involved a Black and White Agility scooter, is believed to have occurred at approximately 3.20pm on Saturday 22 October near to the roundabout on Forrest Way, Warrington.

The rider of the scooter, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to Aintree hospital with serious injuries and sadly passed away later the same day.

Investigating Officer Sergeant Paul Marsh said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident and as part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time this collision occurred.

“I’m also keen to speak to anyone who believes that they may have seen the scooter prior to the time the collision occurred.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 580 of 23/10/2016. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The family of the victim are currently receiving specialist support from Cheshire Police and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
