Suspected thief became threatening when police arrived

POLICE were called to deal with a man who allegedly stole alcohol at B&M Bargains in Warrington town centre.
Staff had detained the man – but when police arrived he is alleged to have become threatening and had to be restrained before being taken to the cells.
In a separate incident, a man was arrested in the Folly Lane area of Warrington for an alleged assault on a woman in the garden of a house.
