Latchford hit and run driver three times over the limit

A MOTORIST involved in a hit and run road traffic collision on Kingsway South, Latchford, was found to be three times over the drink driving limit.

The incident happened at 5.30pm,yesterday (Saturday) when a black Hyundi Coupe crashed into another vehicle on Kingsway South, and then drove off leaving the scene.

The vehicle and driver were later located on Reynolds Street, and the driver – a male aged 32, was arrested following a positive breath test, which was three times the limit.

It was the second drink driving incident in the area during the day following a road traffic collision at the Latchford Medical Centre,when the driver of a black fiat ran off. The 21 year-old was later arrested near the Co-op on Kingsway South and provided a positive breath test at 9.30am.
